10/15/19: GHSWPA Women Represent in Florida Competition:  This past weekend Coach Karina Cardisco took some of the BEST Players from GA High School Water Polo and competed against Florida College Teams. Our girls not only performed AMAZING, but impressed the college players, coaches and referees! Coach Karina was approached by all the coaches asking about our girls and what we are doing in GA!

There were 2 teams, selected by try outs, since we knew we had to take the best to compete against Florida college teams.

We chose the name Georgia Heat!…GA Heat Gold and GA Heat Black.

10/3/19: Post Season Water Polo Opportunities:  Coaches, Referees, or anyone interested in learning more about water polo can Click Here to SIGN UP for the Coach and Referee schools held during the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP) Camp at Dynamo Chamblee the weekend of October 26-27. USAWP High Performance Director John Abdou leads Coaches and USAWP National Referee Manager Levon Dermendjian leads Referees. Cost is only $10 for USAWP members, $20 for non-members. This is an incredible value. Space is VERY limited!

Another quick reminder that space is still available for the ATL ODP camp itself. This camp is great for players of ALL levels. Players born 2002-2008 are encouraged to register quickly for the camp. Register Here Now

What a great weekend of waterpolo! We are so impressed by the level of game play that was brought to the pool this weekend at each and every game. All players and coaches are to be commended for the incredible strides these teams made throughout the season. The talent and commitment to this sport really showed this weekend. A huge THANK YOU to all the referees, coaches and volunteers who made this tournament weekend go so smoothly.

9/24/19: Weslyean end of season action:   The Wesleyan Wolves wrapped up their regular season with a 15-7 win over the St. Pius B team on Tuesday. Seniors Connor Beaty, Isaiah Erb, Jack Godfrey, Sammy Johnson and Will Miller all made significant contributions to the win. They are looking forward to the start of the GHSWPA championship on Saturday!

9/20/19: Thank You NS Spartans!   On September 19th, the North Springs water polo team put on a clinic for the Nautical Milers, a differently-abled swim team. Each swimmer was paired up with a North Springs player, and they learned how to tread, pass, catch, and shoot. We even got to play a scrimmage, refereed by Pat Myers, who was nice enough to come out during his freetime. Thanks to all for this great event!

9/08/19:   Congratulations to the six Dynamo WPC Youth players who earned spots on the 2018-2019 USA Water Polo Academic All-America roster:

8/30/19:   Congratulations to the Wildcat Boys for their second place finish in the Kap7 Atlanta Cup (f/k/a Powerbar Cup) the weekend of August 24-25th. The tournament featured high school boys teams from Memphis TN, Orlando FL, Greensboro NC, St. Louis MO, and Miami, FL, as well as 3 GHSWPA teams (Wildcats, Collins Hill, APS.) The Wildcats defeated Miami Riptides 8-7 in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game. In the finals, the Wildcats fell to NC Select 6-8. In the high school girls division, Lady Wildcats finished 2nd in their group but lost to the eventual champions Riptide Girls in the semi-finals.

05/28/19:   Congratulations Lady Wildcat Ritika Sadalge! –   American Water Polo also named Ritika a national Carol Scholarship winner, one of 6 players so honored nationwide for the 2018-19 school year. The Carol Scholarship is given for leadership based on teamwork, sportsmanship and community. Ritika was a member of the Lady Wildcats’ inaugural women’s team in 2016, and most recently played on the Lady Wildcats’ 2018 GHSWPA Women’s State Championship team. Ritika is a just-graduated senior at Wheeler High School’s magnet program, the Center for Advanced Studies in Science, Math and Technology. She will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall.

More about the Carol Scholarship: Ron Gonen, a former athlete from the University of Massachusetts and Young Athletes of America Water Polo Club, has established a $5,000 scholarship available to water polo athletes aged 14-19 who exhibit leadership or the potential for leadership based on the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and community. Named in honor of his mother, the purpose of the scholarship is to provide an athlete with limited financial means the opportunity for high level training and instruction, or similar academic endeavors during a 24-month period of time. 04/23/19:   Congrats Sophie Gotham! –   Congratulations to APS Knight player Sophie Gotham. American Water Polo named Sophie, sophomore at Grady High School, a national 2018-2019 Carol Scholarship winners. An attacker, Sophie played on both the APS Knights Girls A and Co-ed B teams during the 2018 Georgia High School Water Polo Association season. Sophie also plays for Dynamo Youth Water Polo, including travelling to Northern California last July to compete in the Junior Olympics, the national age group water polo championships that has as many athletes at a Summer Olympic Games.

03/20/19:   Congratulations Sarah Fitzsimmons!  After the USA Water Polo Boys ODP National Championships in SoCal this weekend, she was invited to attend the Girls Cadet (born 2004) National Team Selection Camp. Team USA coaches use the NTSC (held later this spring in SoCal) to finalize their rosters for 2019 National Teams that train and compete across Europe over the summer. Sarah is the first Dynamo WPC player invited to two NTSCs. Last year, she attended the Girls Development NTSC. Other DWPC NTSC invitees: Perry Brandes (Boys 2015), Bella Nunez (Girls 2018), and Ahmad Fareed (Boys 2019).
During the fall GHSWPA season, Sarah plays for the Collins Hills Eagles.
The annual ODP Selection process for the SE Zone starts late ever October with a Camp right here at Dynamo WPC. Get ready!

03/06/19:   Congratulations Ahmad Fareed!  After the USA Water Polo Boys ODP National Championships in SoCal last weekend, Ahmad was invited to attend the Boys Development (born 2005 or younger) National Team Selection Camp. Team USA coaches use the NTSC (April 11-15 in SoCal) to finalize their rosters for 2019 National Teams that train and compete across Europe over the summer. Ahmad was also named the Nick Johnson Inspiration Award winner for the South East Zone Boys Development ODP team.

Fellow DWPC players Hayes Beamon (Youth – Born 2002-2003) and Ayden Hess (Cadet – Born 2004) also represented Georgia well at the Boys ODP Nationals. A group of Georgia Dynamo girls head to SoCal in less than two weeks for their ODP Nationals!

Ahmad is the fourth Dynamo WPC player invited to an NTSC. He joins Perry Brandes (Boys 2015), Sarah Fitzsimmons (Girls 2018) and Bella Nunez (Girls 2018). During the fall GHSWPA season, Ahmad plays for the Forsyth Tritons, Hayes for the APS Knights and Ayden for the St. Pius X Lions. The annual ODP Selection process for the SE Zone starts late every October with a Camp at Dynamo WPC. Get ready!

03/05/19:   SafeSport Reminder: As Spring play begins, remember for all of your team representatives, including coaches, assistant coaches, parent volunteers etc to complete the SafeSport training required by AWP.
